Final Blog + 2 wk. reflection

During world geography, I learned about all kinds of places. One place outside of the United States I would like to visit is Europe. This is because I have never been there. However, a lot of friends say that it is really nice. There are also a lot of different places to see, especially in Italy. Also, there is a lot of different food along with culture to see there. Overall, Europe sounds like a fun place to be.
During the last two weeks in school, I have been learning about ecology in biology, and parts of Asia in geography.

overpopulation + 2 week reflection

Many parts of the world are faced with overpopulation. Countries facing the most problems are Japan, India, and China. Problems may include shortage of food and water, along with inadequate healthcare. China has done the most work to solve its problem. It has created a one child policy, but it is not properly enforced. If i had to come up with a strategy i would give benefits to those with one child or less. This would lead to more and more people having fewer kids, but they would not be forced to do it. This makes them more inclined to receive these benefits. However, no strategy is perfect for the situation.
During the past two weeks, I have not really been learning much in schol, except for ecology in biology, and Iraq in world geo.

Genocide in Darfur+2 week reflection

Darfur is an area plagued by killing. Many groups have been accused of getting involved. These may include the Sudanese government, the Chinese government of the Janjaweed, a militant group. In my opinion, the janjaweed are the people at the most fault. This is because they are the ones actually doing all of the killing. However the Sudanese government can also be considered equally at fault. This is because thwy are hiring the Janjaweed. They are also supplying them with weapons to kill innocent people.
During the last two weeks, I have been learning about southwest asia in geography, and about protists and fungi in biology.

Global Warming+ 2 week reflection

Global warming is a huge problem for everyone. Worst of all, it is destroying our planet. It is even fully preventable. At Anderson High School, there are many things being done. First of all, there are green clubs. Also, the school recycles a lot of paper and plastic. However, there is much more that could be done to help out the environment. Luckily, our school is doing a good job.
Over the past two weeks, school has been going slow, and I have been learning a lot. In math, I am learning about probability. In Biology, bacteria and viruses, whil learning about Africa in World Geography.

Better to fall or learn to love + 2wk reflection

In my opinion, it is better to fall in love than to learn to love. However, you should probably spend a lot of time with that person before you make a commitment. This is because you have to really know what he/she is like. Also, by being able to fall in love, you can already tell that you and the other person like each other, so it is easier to find a spouse. However, if you have to fall in love, then you might not be able to like the person ever. This is because you two may not be compatible.
During the last 2 weeks in school, I have been learning about Russia and the republics in Geography. In biology, I have been learning about evolution. Other than that, I have just been taking tests.

culture

When it comes to music, I don't have any particular favorite band. However, I like rock music. This is because it is the only type of music I can stand to listen to. Music groups that have slow tempo music just really annoy me.I usually listen to the radio or my ipod when I want to hear music.

During the last 2 weeks, we have been learning about Europe in world Geography. We also took a test over it. Other than that, school has been going very slow.

Technology

The one piece of technology that has made a difference in my life is the computer. This is because it has easier ways for people to do things. One thing that is much easier is typing papers. With a typewriter, if you were to mess up once, you would have to start over, but now we just hit "backspace". To me, this is as big as fire or electricity being invented.
Over the past two weeks in geography we have been learning about Europe. It is very interesting, and I like it.

diverse populations

The United States of America has a pretty diverse population. For example, I, myself, am from India, but I was born here in Austin. Every day many immigrants enter the U.S. from many different countries. They settle in the country, and when more and more people come, the population becomes more diverse. The U.S. promotes the idea of immigration. First, when immigrants come to the U.S., they are accepted and all they have to do is take the citizenship test. Some people ,though,do not support the idea of immigration. However, it is up to the country to decide whet er or not immigrants can come in.

Favorite places in the U.S.

The one place I would like to live in is here in Austin, Texas. The city is fantastic, and it is my favorite place in the U.S. This is because it looks great where I live, and the weather is nice. Going to UT football and basketball games in Austin is very fun, because it is a very exhilarating atmosphere. There are also other nice cities like Boise, Idaho. I have relatives there and the city itself is really calm and nice where they live. Bogus Basin is a very populra ski area there and it is fun to ski in that area. Even though there are many more nice areas, Austin is my favorite.

terrorist attacks in the United States

In the United States, there have been a few terrorist attacks. The most recent major one occured on September 11, 2001. Four planes were hijacked and three crashed into heavily populated buildings. That day many people were affected. The motives of the terrorists are probably to set the world right as they view it. Todaay, we as a nation have come great lenghts to prevent these attacks. One way is heavy security at airports. Hopefully there will not be terrorist attacks in the future

Anderson

My school is Anderson high school. It is located in Austin Texas. It is not the biggest school I have seen, but it is pretty big. There are many people there. There are also many different clubs like math clubs and language clubs. The school has many unique things from its students, to the teachers. Anderson is the first public school I have ever been to. I would also have to say that I really like the school.

Illegal Immigrants

In the United States, illegal immigrants come into the country mainly by crossing the border between our country and Mexico. Here in Texas, there are many immigrants because Texas borders Mexico. The immigrants come to the U.S. because it is the "land of opportunity." Here they are able to have a much better job and life. Our country, however deals with this by having border patrol along the U.S.-Mexico border. They also check legal documents and export people who have already come to the United States. I do not mind immigrants coming in. This is because they take jobs and help out people who own businesses.
